Description
A friend in need is a friend indeed
MB&F, or Max Büsser & Friends, takes after its namesake. The friendships the watchmaker has made throughout the years have left a deep impression on him. It is only with these friendships that he’s propelled to deliver magnificent timepieces of splendid proportions. In short, Haute Horlogerie at its best.
The M.A.D edition 1, was a testament to these friendships. Strictly not for sale on release, the piece was a symbol of gratitude to those who supported the brand over the years, including suppliers and collectors that made MB&F what it is. While typical MB&F watches were on the much higher spectrum of horological costs, this piece was a far more affordable, yet highly limited, version.
In terms of aesthetics, it follows the route of other watches by the maker, bringing over-the-top, fantasy elements to life. The time display is one-of-a-kind, laterally indicated, through dual aluminum cylinders, with hours in blue and minutes in grey. An upside-down and more affordable Miyota 821A movement is paired with a triple-blade winding rotor mounted on top, featuring Super LumiNova on every facet. The rotor itself is crafted in titanium and tungsten, complemented by 21 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve.
Everything is set in a 42mm steel case, further enhanced by a domed sapphire to give a full view of the triple-blade titanium-tungsten rotor and time indicators. The bracelet is in grey leather with blue accents and a folding buckle.
