The futuristic design and its movement displays time like no other watch.
The UR-105 revisits URWERK’s iconic satellite indication, which has been an emblematic and instantly recognizable signature element of the brand for 18 years. It is a wandering hour indication based on a carousel which carries the four satellites, each bearing three numerals for the hours. The hours successively sweep past the minutes scale for an analogue and digital display of the time.

*This latest model from the 105 collection, code  name UR-105CT Bronze comes with a “shield” protecting it from any outside shock or in the brand’s co-founder Martin Frei’s words :

“The UR-105 is our URWERK Knight; the bezel evokes the breastplate of a knight’s armor, protecting the mechanism from the ravages of time.”

This shield/plate opens up with an ingenious integrated button in the center of the top of the watch, it is like a car’s hood and once up we can admire the futuristic “engine” of satellites and complex automatic winding system.

Urwerk – bio

Felix Baumgartner (co-founder and master watchmaker) and Martin Frei (co-founder and chief designer) first met in 1995 to discuss developing a watch. The young men were united by their common passion for measuring and portraying time. A long discussion, a sharing of philosophies and dreams, culminated in a decision to create their own vision of time.
They founded URWERK in 1997 and presented their first timepiece at Baselworld that same year.
