Description

From 2001 when they introduced the RM001 tourbillon and 2007 when the RM011 was released, “RM” had already redefined modern-horology. It was like Mr Mille created a category in itself, avant-garde watches using cutting-edge techniques+materials inspired by motorsports and aerospace.

The  RM011 is certainly the most recognisable model, its story and success has RM’s friendship with Brazilian driver, Felipe Massa. Since then we saw RM011-01, RM011-02 and in 2016 the release of an upgraded version, bigger in size called RM11-03.
The classic tonneau case is emblematic of Richard Mille and its signature design, endorsing top athletes and answering their need for watches that resist extreme conditions, 2011 saw a revolution with the world’s lightest and shock resistant watch in the industry.  The RM27 collection developed for Rafael Nadal, to allow him to play during tournaments with his watch.  Since then the carbon fiber cased RM27-01, RM27-02 and RM27-03 versions were released, all limited to 50 pieces & ultra-ultra-light.

*Straight from the race tracks the Richard Mille RM 50-03 Tourbillon Split Secs Chronograph Ultralight McLaren F1 is a tribute to the British Formula 1 constructor revealed during the SIHH 2017.  The famous tonneau case is in Titanium and Carbon TPT but (again) a new material also completes this case : the Graph TPT

All these makes possible to get a case of less than 40 grams, a sapphire glass reveals a skeleton dial with silver hands in the center, larges ones indicates the hours & minutes while the ones with red & yellow ends are the split-seconds chronograph hands with the 30-minutes counter at 9 o’clock

The torque indicator is on the upper right side of the dial and the power-reserve indicator of 70-hours on the left, the function indicator is at 3 o’clock and works exactly like a F1 gearbox.     And finally, surrounded by a small seconds counter a fantastic tourbillon is visible at 6 o’clock.   The manual winding movement can be admired from both sides and an orange textile strap will hold this limited edition of only 75 pieces

Richard Mille – Bio

Richard Mille (born 13 February 1951, in France) started work at Finhor, a local watchmaking company in 1974. In 1999 he founded the company Richard Mille SA in collaboration with Audemars Piguet. Its first product, the RM001 went on sale in 2001
