Description

The sporty Aquanaut collection has been launched in 1997 following two decades of success by its “Nautilus” sibling. The story began following a special-order in the mid-90s for gifts to be given to best army officers so the design had to be something robust and for action. It was intended for a younger customers base but older generation adopted it immediately, becoming an instant success due to its easy-wearability with the new “tropical” rubber strap and bold dial.

In 2004, the diamond set ladies Aquanaut Luce reference 5067A found favour among the female wrists. To mark the 10th anniversary the extra-large 40.8mm reference 5167A was introduced and in 2011 the Travel-Time reference 5164A.

For the 20th anniversary they released the first white gold 42.2mm jumbo size, the limited 5650G Advanced Research Travel Time and two ladies versions The Aquanaut Luce Haute Joaillerie 5062/450R and 5072R.

*The present watch is a very special piece made from the base 5167 model but cased in rose gold and set with baguette diamonds on the bezel, the lugs and side case.  A total of 101 diamonds for a weight of approximately 6.32 ct.

The brand sets the standard high for all gems (emeralds, rubies & sapphires), diamonds only the top D to G colour range is used with internally flawless (IF) grade and the cut must be of “excellent” to “very good “ international grades.  Gems are set by hand never bonded with adhesive.
