We are known to source collector-grade timepieces and today we prove it again, the present reference is the out of catalogue Patek Philippe 5204/1R-010, a grand complications with a special touch.

For the little history, the first Patek Philippe perpetual calendar split-seconds chronograph was reference 5004, which debuted in 1996, it was equipped with the final Lemania-based caliber, the CH 27-70 Q. The 5204, which has Patek Philippe’s first in-house perpetual calendar split-seconds chronograph (caliber CHR 29-535 PS Q), took the helm of the 5004 in 2012. From 36mm the case was extended to 40mm, the dial underwent some minor adjustments to improve legibility, and the moon phase was inverted at six o’clock. Long being in the shadow of its “father”, perhaps under appreciated until you get to know it, the 5204 was made on leather strap in various metals, platinum, white gold and rose gold with two dials, white and grey.

The reference 5204/1R is the fully integrated rose gold bracelet version that is traditionally only offered on an ivory black dial. This particular luxurious model features a very rare striking blue dial called “Bleu PVD”, it is believed only a handful were made with this combination.

Patek Philippe has revised this model to add a detachable rose gold bracelet option that can be switched out for a leather strap as seen on the present watch, it makes perhaps the watch more classy and attractive in the eyes of the collectors, the mix of rose gold case and stunning blue dial stands out extremely well.

Among its many features, the 5204/1R-010 includes the functional perpetual calendar, adjusting for months of varying lengths and leap years. Additionally, the watch boasts a moon-phase indicator, displaying the lunar cycle in a visually appealing manner. A day/night indicator is also present, enhancing the practicality of this exceptional timepiece.

The split-seconds chronograph that allows to precisely time two different event that start but don’t end together.
