The “Vagabondage” model was first released in 2004 for a charity auction, a tonneau-shaped case and the dial wasn’t bearing the F.P. Journe signature.  The name “Vagabondage” was given because the time is given by a wandering digital display in a un-usual flat turtle-shaped case.  The three models made were sold for 3x their value.  Mr Journe then released 69 pieces in platinum with rose gold movement, surprisingly marketed without any promotion or pictures even, all sold-out and the Vagabondage-mania was born.

*The present watch is the “Vagabondage II” in platinum it is the second edition of the series.
Although the movement is complicated, the time-display is extremely easy to read.

The digital indication of the jumping hours and minutes is displayed in individual apertures, with a sub-seconds dial below, and a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, all aligned vertically in the center of the dial. The functioning of the discs is visible around the apertures, with the gorgeous perlage on the rose gold baseplate acting as the backdrop.

The flat “tortue” style platinum case is very elegant measuring 37.5mm X 45mm, and just 8mm thick.

It houses the FP Journe manually-wound Calibre 1509, crafted entirely in 18K rosegold, offering 40 hours of power reserve. The finishing on the movement offers great depth alternating between brushed and polished surfaces.

This special edition is limited to 69 pieces and has a smoked sapphire crystal and the dial doesn’t have the FP Journe signature
