This Kari Voutilainen Vingt-8 timepiece is a paragon of the watchmaker’s art, a celebration of intricate detail and traditional craftsmanship presented within the lustre of a white gold 39mm case. It encapsulates not just the passage of time, but the essence of horological elegance and sophistication.

The watch is immediately striking for its elaborate guilloché dial, a signature of Voutilainen’s meticulous craftsmanship. The guilloché engraving creates an optical feast, as the patterned waves catch and play with the light, giving the face of the watch a dynamic and ever-changing aspect. This intricate design is contrasted beautifully by the serenity of the dial’s white base, while the blued hands stand out sharply against it, ensuring clarity and adding a classic flourish to the overall design.

Voutilainen’s Vingt-8 is also known for its comfort and ergonomics. The “water drop” lugs are a thoughtful touch, ensuring that the watch not only looks elegant but also feels right at home on the wrist. These lugs are carefully designed to make the timepiece appear larger, while still affording a snug fit, enhancing both the aesthetic and the experience of the wearer.

Moving beyond the dial, the small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock is gracefully integrated into the overall design, maintaining the balance and purity of the watch’s face. It’s a subtle nod to traditional watchmaking, where every element has both a purpose and a beauty.

The craftsmanship extends to the sapphire case back, through which the precision in-house movement can be admired. This is where Voutilainen’s expertise in fine mechanics is on full display. Each component is finished to perfection, showcasing techniques such as côtes de Genève and intricate polishing that can only be achieved by the hand of a skilled watchmaker.

This Kari Voutilainen Vingt-8 is not just an instrument of time. It is a statement of luxury, a testament to a watchmaker’s dedication to creating a wearable work of art that is timeless in its appeal and unmatched in its construction. It is a treasure for any collector, an heirloom to be passed down through generations, and a splendid example of Kari Voutilainen’s mastery over the art of watchmaking.

It is important to note this present watch is among one of the first 10 pieces made and assembled in-house, serial number of the movement is 28-00x a very early single digit number if we also consider that this model was released in 2011 and this watch delivered to a Far Eastern retailer in 2011.
