Description
Richard Mille redefined modern-horology with avant-garde watches using cutting-edge techniques and materials inspired by motorsports and aerospace. The classic tonneau case is emblematic of the brand and can often be seen on the wrist of top athletes, answering their need for watches that resist extreme conditions.
The present RM 35-02 Rafael Nadal Black TPT was created in collaboration with Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal and is designed to withstand the rigorous demands of professional sports at the highest level. As such, the watch can withstand accelerations of up to 5’000 gs.
The RM 35-02 is made from a unique material called Black TPT, which is a composite of multiple layers of carbon fibers that have been infused with resin. This material is extremely lightweight and durable, making it perfect for a sports watch. Result of extreme engineering and collaboration between NTPT and Richard Mille, the innovative case material was first used in the RM27-02 Rafael Nadal back in 2015.
One of the standout features of the RM 35-02 is its self-winding movement, in response to a request from many customers. It is powered by the RMAL1 caliber, a movement that has been specifically designed for this watch. The RMAL1 caliber is made up of RM’s patented variable-geometry rotor, which helps to ensure that the watch maintains a consistent power reserve. The skeletonized mechanism can be admired from any angle through the anti-reflective sapphire crystal case back, another novelty for the Nadal collection.
The baseplate and the bridges are made in Grade 5 titanium which helps to maintain the lightweight of this timepiece. As extreme and technical it all may seem, and as with all Richard Mille timepieces, the movement is finished beautifully to the highest standards with beveled edges and hand-polished screw heads.
The RM 35-02 Rafael Nadal Black TPT combines technical excellence with stylish design, making it a truly exclusive timepiece for collectors and fans of both luxury watches and Rafael Nadal. The watch comes fitted with a red rubber strap for maximum comfort and grip, while giving it a sporty, athletic look.
