Description

2004 saw the launch of the first ladies models in the Richard Mille portfolio, the RM007 alongside the iconic RM009 which was made in ALUSIC, a material frequently used in the construction of satellites and space stations.
RM007 has since become the ultimate ladies watch when one talks about ultra-modern and ultra-expensive timepieces. Richard Mille has launched several variations of the 007, including the 07-01 open link strap and the delicious RM07-02 Pink Lady Sapphire which cost approx. USD $1M!

The present reference is the RM007 rosegold with black leather strap.
The iconic tonneau shaped case was sized down to fit better on a woman’s wrist. It measures 45mm X 31mm. The upper surface is slightly curved, then angling downward more sharply towards the edges where the strap connects. It sits elegantly on any wrist, thanks to its curved case-design and the absence of lugs. The surface is mirror-polished, and features the distinguishable eight titanium spline screws, while the sides of the case are satin-brushed with polished vertical columns, adding to the depth of the case. The older RM007s had a brushed case surface.

The shape of the grade 5 titanium spline screws has a functional purpose allowing for better control of the torque applied to the screws during assembly. The tripartite case is held together by the screws on the bezel along with 4 additional screws on the case-back, reinforced by three Nitril O-ring seals with tube driven in and glued, all leading to the water resistance of up to 50 meters.

The PVD-coated dial is centrally anchored by the movement, which is also PVD-coated, and displays the hours, minutes and the date aperture at 6 o’clock – all markers float on a clear plate, offering an incredible depth to the semi-skeleton dial. The polished hands are made in white gold and the sapphire crystal is anti-glare coated.

Seen through the sapphire case back, and also partly on the dial, is the automatic Caliber RM007. The most interesting part of the movement, rather the watch itself is the unique and unusual rotor.

It is made of 18-carat gold, satin finished with hand polished surfaces and hand anglage. The rotor weight consists of more than 100 18-carat gold micro-balls within a transparent PVD coated container. The container is inspired by an hour-glass with the free-flowing gold balls passing from one compartment to the other.

This marvelous timepiece is offered on a black leather strap with a rosegold Richard Mille pin buckle.
