The Richard Mille RM 63-02 Automatic Winding Worldtimer, housed in a 47mm case made of microblasted grade 5 titanium, represents the apex of modern watchmaking. This timepiece, unlike the majority of Richard Mille’s collection which features the iconic tonneau shape, surprises with its round design, a choice driven by its main complication: the world-timer. The RM 63-02 is not only sporty, masculine, and robust but also exudes a high-end, technical vibe.

The watch’s bezel is a feat of engineering, allowing quick and accurate adjustment of the time zone. This is achieved by aligning the local city to 12 o’clock on the bezel, which automatically sets the local time and shows the time in 23 other international cities. The bezel’s functionality is further enhanced by its construction on ball bearings, ensuring precise and comfortable manipulation.

Inside, the RM 63-02 beats with the in-house caliber CRMA3, visible through the sapphire crystal face. This movement is a showcase of horological innovation, featuring a free-sprung balance with variable inertia for improved accuracy and shock resistance. The mainspring barrel, rotating once every five hours instead of the typical 7.5, balances power reserve and isochronism. The movement is finished to haute horlogerie standards, including satin-finished surfaces, hand-polished chamfered edges, and diamond-polished angles on the wheels.

The timepiece’s design is a blend of complexity and detailed attention. The case requires almost 200 parts for its creation, featuring straight satin finish and polished beveled angles on the lugs and crown protection. The large date displayed at 12, and the alpha handset, enhances the overall aesthetic and functionality of the watch.
