This beautiful piece has been revisited from the Yacht-Master II revealed in 2015. First introduced in 1992, the Yacht-Master is inspired by the nautical environment. It has been a success among the nautical enthusiasts and those looking for a chic and sporty model.
For the present reference 126679SABR, the 40mm case is made of robust 18ct white gold and set with 46 brilliant-cut diamonds covering the lugs all the way to the crown guard.
The most eye-catching feature is the bi-directional rotatable bezel set with 40 trapeze-cut precious stones. Inspired by the magnificent aurora borealis, pink, light-blue, dark-blue and purple sapphires as well as diamonds compose the gorgeous sequence of five hues that is repeated eight times over and enhanced by a single triangular diamond at 12 o’clock.
With a diamond-paved dial to go along in harmony with the gem-set bezel, this luxurious and enchanting piece is sure to get noticed.
The gem-setting of the few hundred diamonds on the dial has been finely executed with a precise alignment, orientation and position with a finishing typical of the most prestigious watchmakers.
The precious metal has to be delicately carved to enable hand-shape the seat for each gem.Yacht-Master inscription is at 6 o’clock on a gold plate as well as the Rolex inscription at 12 o’clock. The famous “Cyclops” lens highlights the date at 3 o’clock. A self-winding movement, the Perpetual Calibre 3235 released in 2015 and boasting 14 patents, is hidden and protected by the monobloc case. Carrying a Perpetual rotor, it has a power-reserve of 70 hours and water-proof resistance to 100m to enjoy it in any conditions. Like all of its peers, the Oyster Perpetual is certified with Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer certification.

Founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis in London, initially as Wilsdorf & Davis Ltd. Renamed Rolex by 1908 and moved its base of operations to Geneva, Switzerland in 1919. Their success is due to their innovation namely the legendary “Oyster” case – first water resistant watch and their extremely reliable movements.

The company is owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, a family private trust.
One story, never confirmed by Wilsdorf, recounts that the name came from the French words “horlogerie exquise”‘è, meaning “exquisite clockwork”.
