Introduced around 60 years ago, the Oyster case had a tremendous success around the globe for all lovers of water related activities.
The ingenious development by Rolex to come up with the best materials and innovations for waterproof watches, while keeping a sober and elegant look, gave the success to the Submariner model. Several high profile stunt with divers tests in the ocean and remarkable marketing helped the world know.

Of course, an appearance on the big screen as the tool watch of the most famous English spy developed an interest within the watchafionados.
The introduction in 1954 of the Submariner came with 3 models as the reference 6200, 6204 and 6205.

Before 1954, some of these models existed but without the wording Submariner, therefore the birth of this iconic model started when we could read it on the dial.  At that time, there were no crown guards but the water resistance from 100 to 200 meters was guaranteed. ,The crown guards appeared with the reference 5512 in 1959 and then the date window with the famous « Cyclops » Plexi crystal in 1966.

In 2009 and 2010 they introduced a ceramic bezel on the references 116613LB, 116619 and 116610NL/LV with fat case lugs and new bracelet, the current Submariner on the catalogue that is on the wish list of many today.

*The famous Genevian watchmaker revealed this beauty during the 2018 Baselworld under reference 116659SABR.

A white gold Oyster mono-block case set with 92 brilliant-cut diamonds with the eye-catching bezel set with 27 baguettes sapphires and 12 baguettes diamonds as the hour markers for an approximate total weight of 3.90 carats of sapphire and 1.72 carats of diamonds.  A unique dark blue dial with the date window at 3 o’clock, there’s something special about this dial and its not only the colour, have a closer look : the inscription “1000ft = 300m” is missing ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The self-winding movement has a power-reserve of 48-hours and is known to be one of the most efficient, fitted with a full Oyster bracelet in white gold with Oysterlock clasp.

– The present watch is a very small production series and a future collectible.
