Description

Rolex introduced the Day-Date President in 1956. It was the first watch to feature the day of the week written in full at 12 o’clock along with the date window at 3 o’clock. And it came on the iconic ‘President’ bracelet which, till date, is made only in precious metals which is Gold and Platinum. While the design has stayed pretty much the same for over 6 decades, Rolex has made incremental technical advancements enhancing the comfort and the reliability of the watch.
The timeless classic continues to be the ultimate status watch.

The present Ref: 228396TBR features a 40mm platinum case, and an incredibly beautiful ice-blue dial. There are 10 baguette cut diamonds to mark the hours, a fully spelt-out day of the week at 12 o’clock, and the date at 3 o’clock magnified by the iconic Cyclops. Interesting fact is that the ice-blue dial day-dates are made only in platinum, the noblest of materials as per Rolex.

Furthermore, the bezel is adorned with 40 factory set trapeze-cut baguette diamonds weighing a total of /- 3.48 ct.
On the inside is the Rolex manufacture calibre 3255 self-winding movement powering the hours, minutes and seconds hands, the instantaneous day and date functions, and offering a mammoth 70 hours of power reserve.

This stunning timepiece comes on a full platinum President bracelet.

Rolex – bio

Founded by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis in London, England in 1905 as Wilsdorf and Davis, Rolex moved its base of operations to Geneva, Switzerland in 1919.  Their success is due to their innovation namely the legendary “Oyster” case – first water resistant watch and their extremely reliable movements.
The most famous models are Datejust, Day-Date, Daytona, Explorer, GMT-Master, Submariner and many more.
The company is owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, a family private trust.
One story, never confirmed by Wilsdorf, recounts that the name came from the French phrase horlogerie exquise, meaning “exquisite clockwork”.
