Description

Patek Philippe introduced the reference 3939 in the year 1993. It was a bazooka but without the noise. A discreet grand complication, this petite timepiece was packed with greatness, featuring a minute repeater and a tourbillon, and was made in rose gold, yellow gold and white gold. A platinum version was launched a year later. The production of 3939 was discontinued in 2009, replacing it with the reference 5339.
Across all four metals, approx. only 300 pieces were made making this a very rare reference. And then there is the pièce unique reference 3939 in steel which was made for Only Watch 2011.
Patek Philippe set the quality standards of this reference so high, that Mr. Philippe Stern himself would personally test the acoustics of each watch for the inimitable sound quality, before the piece left the building.

The present watch is the reference 3939HG crafted in 18K white gold. This is an unconventional timepiece that goes against the trends and hypes. A timepiece made for the true connoisseurs, it measures a mere 33.5mm and features a Minute Repeater and a Tourbillon, both hidden behind an unassuming and a gorgeous white enamel dial. Adding to the elegance of this timepiece are the Breguet numerals and hands, with a sunken subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock. The minute repeater is activated by the slide on the case band.

On the inside is the hand-wound Patek Philippe caliber RTO 27 PS minute repeating on two hammers onto two gongs and a one minute tourbillon carriage. Even though it comes on a snap-on case back, there is absolutely no compromise with the finishing on the movement, earning it a Geneva seal.

This piece of ultimate horology is offered on a hand-stitched black alligator strap with a 18K white gold pin buckle and its original wooden box.
