Description

Introduced in 1999, the Tourbillon Souverain was the first serial production watch by F.P. Journe, featuring a Remontoir d’Egalité (constant force mechanism).
This present model is part of the latter generation of Tourbillon Souverain produced between 2003 and 2018, the “Tourbillon Nouveau” (or TN) as indicated by the ‘TN’ engraving on the caseback.

Besides the dial facelift, it comes equipped with an additional Dead-beat seconds complication. These watches were made in either 38 or 40mm platinum and rose gold cases, and ditched the brass movements in favor of 18k rose gold movements. The “TN” etched its place in history when it won the Aiguille d’Or at the 2004 GPHG.

This 40mm platinum beauty features a white gold dial, displaying the hours and minutes on a guilloche dial, and counterbalanced by a Tourbillon cage on the other side. Underneath is a seconds sub-dial, creating a harmonious symmetry with the centered power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, while the words ‘Remontoir d’Egalité avec Seconde Morte’ are engraved at the bottom, highlighting the watch’s constant force mechanism and dead-beat seconds complication.

Seen through the sapphire case back is the incredibly gorgeous F. P. Journe Caliber 1403 manual-winding, tourbillon movement in 18K rose gold with the entire remontoir mechanism in view. The detailed finish on each part of the movement is impeccable, decorated with Côtes de Genève.

The watch on offer is in outstanding condition and comes with a black alligator strap and a matching platinum tang buckle. It is also accompanied by its original box & warranty card
