Description

The rarest of rare collectibles

It was the year 1984 when Audemars Piguet first introduced the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ref: 5554.
It combined two of APs revolutionary watchmaking acts: the world’s thinnest perpetual calendar movement 2120/2800 and the design icon Royal Oak.

An incredibly rare watch, the Audemars Piguet Tantalum and Platinum Perpetual Calendar is crafted from the finest materials. With reference 25820 as its muse, the 25829 allows viewers to see all its inner workings. Produced in the late 1990s, the watch includes 371 steel cases, 174 pink gold, 102 yellow gold, 156 platinum, 25 in platinum and steel, 16 in tantalum and platinum, and 16 tantalum and pink gold.

Hence, reference 25829TP.O.0944TP.01 has only 16 pieces in the entire world. Audemars Piguet showed us a great technical and artistic talent to come up with the reference 25829TP as it’s created from dual materials, platinum and tantalum the rarest of precious metals in the world, known for its hardness and corrosion resistance, it features a sophisticated two-tone aesthetic, with a unique non-contrast appeal. This effect, known as “ton-sur-ton”, complements the two metals and makes each stand out.

Audemars Piguet carried forth its Royal Oak legacy with aplomb, the most renowned range of luxury sports watches in the horological world. The reference 25829TP is 39mm in diameter and comes with an Automatic caliber 2120/2800, with a fully decorated movement, hand-engraved bridges as well as the skeletonized two-tone rotor with AP logo.

The mid-case and bracelet’s larger links are made in tantalum, the bezel and shorter links in platinum. Our piece comes with its original Audemars Piguet Certificate of Origin and of Warranty, AP wooden winding box

Its wonderful history, unique aesthetics, and ultra exclusive production run of 16-pieces make it a must-have for world-class collectors.

We are absolutely honoured to have the opportunity to offer this world class timepiece, viewing possible upon request.

Audemars Piguet – bio

Audemars Piguet is a Swiss manufacturer of mechanical watches founded in 1875. They began in the Vallée de Joux. Jules Louis Audemars formed a partnership with Edward Auguste Piguet. Audemars created complicated blank watch movements for other manufactures to use. Piguet specialized in the final regulation of watches. They then split responsibilities when they began their own company. Audemars was in charge of production and technical aspects while Piguet focused on sales and management. One of their first achievements was creating the first repeater wristwatch in 1892 and in 1972 the iconic steel “Royal Oak”.
