The technique of hammering, also known as the Florentine technique give the surface a textured, almost frozen look, with tiny facets shining like diamonds with the play of light. The technique was popular by the famous jewelry designer Carolina Bucci.
The first launch saw the frosted gold pieces in white gold and pink gold.
The present reference 15454BA.GG.1259BA.02 was launched in 2018 as a brand new edition in yellow gold. This limited edition of 300pcs is dedicated to Carolina Bucci.
The 37mm case and the bracelet are made in 18-carat yellow gold, and then intricately hammered in tiny dents to create a rich and even texture across the entire surface.
The polished gold case bolts and the edges of the bezel add a fine distinguishing aesthetic.
The dial features a silver-toned mirror finish, with yellow gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating. In the inside is the AP self-winding caliber 3120 offering 60hrs power reserve.
Audemars Piguet – bio
Audemars Piguet is a Swiss manufacturer of mechanical watches founded in 1875. They began in the Vallée de Joux. Jules Louis Audemars formed a partnership with Edward Auguste Piguet. Audemars created complicated blank watch movements for other manufactures to use. Piguet specialized in the final regulation of watches. They then split responsibilities when they began their own company. Audemars was in charge of production and technical aspects while Piguet focused on sales and management. One of their first achievements was creating the first repeater wristwatch in 1892 and in 1972 the iconic steel “Royal Oak”.
