Description

It was the year 1984 when Audemars Piguet first introduced the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ref: 5554.
It combined two of APs revolutionary watchmaking acts: the world’s thinnest perpetual calendar movement 2120/2800 and the design icon Royal Oak.

An incredibly rare watch, the Audemars Piguet Tantalum and Platinum Perpetual Calendar is crafted from the finest materials. With reference 25820 as its muse, the 25829 allows viewers to see all its inner workings. Produced in the late 1990s, the watch includes 371 steel cases, 174 pink gold, 102 yellow gold, 156 platinum, 25 in platinum and steel, 16 in tantalum and platinum, and 16 tantalum and pink gold.

The Audemars Piguet Perpetual Calendar in Steel 25829ST.OO.0944ST.01 is an embodiment of the brand’s prowess in the art of haute horlogerie, an art form they’ve perfected since their inception in 1875.

Made from robust stainless steel, the 25829ST.OO.0944ST.01, part of the prestigious Royal Oak series, displays a remarkable blend of durability and elegance. The octagonal bezel, fashioned in the same steel, with its exposed screws, is a signature feature, signifying the brand’s innovative spirit and devotion to avant-garde design. The sleek, 39mm diameter of the watch, along with its integrated steel bracelet, allows for a snug, comfortable fit.

This Perpetual Calendar watch boasts a number of complications, exhibiting the brand’s technical mastery. The watch not only tells the time but also accurately tracks the date, day, month, and even the phases of the moon. Remarkably, it can do this without adjustment for more than a century.

Under the hood, the watch is powered by the self-winding Audemars Piguet Calibre 2120/2800, with a fully decorated movement, hand-engraved bridges as well as the skeletonized two-tone rotor with AP logo.

Audemars Piguet – bio

Audemars Piguet is a Swiss manufacturer of mechanical watches founded in 1875. They began in the Vallée de Joux. Jules Louis Audemars formed a partnership with Edward Auguste Piguet. Audemars created complicated blank watch movements for other manufactures to use. Piguet specialized in the final regulation of watches. They then split responsibilities when they began their own company. Audemars was in charge of production and technical aspects while Piguet focused on sales and management. One of their first achievements was creating the first repeater wristwatch in 1892 and in 1972 the iconic steel “Royal Oak”.
