Description

The RICHARD LANGE collection are a tribute to the 19th and 20th centuries Lange observation watches built for scientific purpose and requiring ultimate precision and legibility, inspired by these high standards that the modern versions are made to perpetuate the tradition.

This Richard Lange « Pour Le Mérite » has a perfect round case of 40.5mm is in white gold and protects a splendid black dial. It reveals silver roman indexes on which the silver hours & minutes hands indicates the time.
An inner graduate bezel indicates the quarters in red, a chic and discreet touch from the German watchmaker.
The logo is printed on the dial at 12 o’clock and the small stop seconds counter is perfectly visible at 6 o’clock in black with circular lines.
Real beauty lies in the back of this exceptional timepiece : The highly complex & sumptuous hand-wound mechanism with the « Fusée-and-Chain » transmission. When fully wound, this limited edition of only 218 pieces will perform for at least 36 hours and you can see this engine working harmoniously.

A.Lange & Sohne – bio

Founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Germany.  The company soon became the pioneers in watchmaking in their region.  After Ferdinand’s death his sons, Emil and Richard continued to produce the finest pocket watches of their time.
During World War II, they were victims of bombardments and eventually even got nationalised by the Soviet administration and ceased to exist. At the fall of the Berlin wall in 1990, the grand son of the founder, Walter Lange, revived the company with the help of Swiss watch manufacturers such as IWC & Jaeger-LeCoultre.   The brand introduced their new collection in 1994 with success and by 2000 the company got acquired by the Richemont Group.
